About the Exhibition
The exhibition is presented 4 April through 11 May 2005.
The exhibition will re-open from 9 June through 11 June, in conjunction with the Ninth Annual Furniture Society Conference at San Diego State University. A reception for Conference participants will be held at the University Art Gallery on Thursday, 9 June from 6:00 to 7:00 PM.
The exhibition is organized by Tina Yapelli, director of the
University Art Gallery at San Diego State University. The exhibition and catalogue are sponsored by the San Diego State University Art Council. Additional funding is provided by the School of Art, Design and Art History; the College of Professional Studies and Fine Arts; and the fund for Instructionally Related Activities. Special thanks are extended to David Fobes, Wendy Maruyama and The Furniture Society for their participation in the conception of the project, as well as to Erik Aasen of Domestic Furniture and Melanie Heston of Domestic Architecture for their invaluable assistance in the coordination of the exhibition and catalogue. Roy McMakin is represented by James Harris Gallery in Seattle, Matthew Marks Gallery in New York, Quint Contemporary Art in La Jolla and Marc Selwyn Fine Art in Los Angeles.
